New HR in IT Firm: How Do I Start Creating Effective Policies and Procedures?

dheepa.leo
Hi folks,

I have joined as an HR in an IT firm with zero experience. They have asked me to formulate the "Policies and Procedures" here. Can somebody advise me on the links I can visit to make this job easier?

Thanks a ton.

Cheers,

Hi Namrata,

Could you please specify which policies you are referring to? Once you name a few, I can provide guidance on how to approach them.

Thank you.

Hey Dheepa,

Let me know which policies you would be interested in, and I could send you a couple of them. Ours is a BPO/IT firm, and most of them are related to the mindset here!

Hi Priya/Namrata,

Whatever general policies you know are applicable to an IT firm. We are into IT consulting and services.

It would be of great help if you could send it to me.

Thanks,
Dheepa

Also, is anybody aware of a "Secondment letter"? This is like an offer given to people who go on-site. If you have a copy of this, kindly send it to me.

Folks,

Our company is going for a certification now. The basic information in this regard is that there is basically the ISO 9001 certification, and there is a CMM certification as well. Can somebody give some information on the advantages of a CMM over ISO 9001? Also, will we be skipping anything major if we go directly for a CMM? (I am aware that CMM will not cover admin and HR elaborately. But will it cover at least the basics of Admin and HR?)

In terms of financial implications, recognition, and acceptance, which is considered better: ISO or CMM?

Thanks a ton.

Cheers,
Dheepa

Hello,

I am looking to set up the HR policies for a newly established IT firm. If someone could help me with the standard policies regarding 'Leaves for employees,' then it would be a great help. You could mail it to - [Login to view].

Thanks in advance.
