Job Analysis
It is the basic foundational function in HR that you undertake. It is the analysis of the tasks/activities involved, time taken to perform the tasks, importance of the tasks, responsibility associated with the task, conditions under which it is performed, expertise required, equipment to be used, knowledge required, etc.
This would help the HRM to determine:
- Job description
- Job specification
- Writing job ads
- Recruitment
- Selection
- Induction
- Orientation
- Developing compensation packages
- Training
- Development
- Developing job enrichment programs
- Skills development
- On-the-job coaching
- Counseling, etc.
So, job analysis is fundamental for an effective HRM program.
