Registration Of Assignment Deed

I want to know whether an assignment of a lease deed requires registration wherein the assignment is made without consideration?

If the said assignment is in writing with or without consideration than it is required to be registered.

Well i dont know abt this exactly, but as per my common sense i think the default registration charges OR may be amount shown in assigned lease deed may be taken into consideration.
for exact ans i think Stamp Duty Act will help

Kuljit but I still dont feel very convinced and Stamp Act also doesnt seem to be helping. Anyways thanks for taking out time.
