Optimizing Rating Calculation for Performance Appraisal and Increment Determination

abhi16march
Dear HR,

I want to know about the best calculation system in performance appraisal after rating. Can anyone guide me?

I want to know if the rating will be like this:
a. Appraisee 80/100
b. Appraiser 70/100
c. Reviewer 75/100
Then, how will we be calculating? (Should it be like this: a*20% + b*40% + c*40%?) Is it the best procedure? If anything else, please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,
Abhishek Tiwari

Hi,

Can you provide more details on what exactly you want to convey? As far as I understand, you can calculate the average of all three.

Dear Yajuvendra,

I don't think we should take the average of all three (Appraisee/appraiser/reviewer). I think it should be like this: a*20% + b*40% + c*40% = (a + b + c) / 20 + 40 + 40 = (a + b + c) / 100.

This is my opinion on the calculation, but I now want to know the best procedure for calculation.

Regarding the topic, I mean if the total marks are out of 100, the ratings will be calculated as follows:
- Appraisee: 80/100
- Appraiser: 70/100
- Reviewer: 75/100

So, can we calculate it like this: a*20% (80*20%) + b*40% (70*40%) + c*40% (75*40%) = 16 + 28 + 30 = 74. Therefore, the total marks are 74/100, and the increment will be given based on this according to the company's rules.

As per my calculation of 74 marks out of 100, the increment will be 25%.

However, I want to know about the calculation system based on the rating. I think it should be like this: a*20% (80*20%) + b*40% (70*40%) + c*40% (75*40%).

I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this.

Thanks and Regards,
Abhishek
