Kindly let us know whether the government has approved the proposal of bringing industries with ten or more employees under the purview of the Employees' Provident Fund Act against the earlier limit of 20 or more employees.

Dear Narayanji,

The bill has been introduced but it is yet to pass in both houses of the Central Government. Afterward, it will be amended and become effective. Until then, the previous provisions remain unchanged.

It is only a proposal that needs the approval of Parliament to amend the Act, and only then will it be implemented.
