Have You Landed a Job Through Networking Here? Share Your Success Story!

Hi all,

We can see tons and tons of CVs floating left and right. When there is an opportunity, hundreds of CVs are uploaded or email IDs scribbled. But how many have you come across with a courteous email reply saying "Thanks, my fellow CiteHR guy, I got this job because of you or your lead"? Hmm... I haven't come across any.

How about posting all such SUCCESS stories in this THREAD and let the world know the effectiveness of networking on this site? I am sure there would be NO such person who, after grabbing the offer letter, would not 'care' to browse this site again.

So come on folks, let's have some testimonials.

I have been a part of this site since March 2008 but have not yet found a suitable opportunity. I did apply for a position through this site once, and after interviewing, I did not find the offer lucrative. However, I had decided that if I were to get that job, I would be thanking CiteHr for the opportunity. I am still waiting for that chance. :icon1:

Good to see postings above. Though I don't have any success story to share with Cite HR, all I can say is the response I got for the job posting I made was good. So getting a job and making it a success story will depend on only one thing. If the job seekers study the requirements, ensure that they are actually interested in the opening, and then post their resume, rather than posting their profiles for each and every post, then I'm sure that we will surely have so many success stories.

Thank you for your encouragement. You are correct in saying that one should not send CVs to all job requirements without reading them first. Developing this habit will certainly increase the applicant's chances of securing a deal with a potential employer.

Thanks for asking this. But only today I was thinking the same thing. I'll ask the seniors if there are lots of positions for freelancers and so on. I have replied to many of these kinds of emails expressing my interest and have also posted my email id. I have sent emails from my personal email id as well. However, I have not received a single reply. As recruiters, they should have good reading skills. If they are unable to provide any response, then why do they continue to post job openings? It seems like they are just collecting data. Why would anyone choose to reply for a job via Cite HR?

In my opinion, it's a good site for knowledge transfer but not for job seekers. I hope to receive some insightful responses from the seniors.

Thanks for your inputs. I am sure many others must have also felt the same as narrated. The response to this post by Kesarpriya clearly highlights her frustration for no response from senior professionals. I agree with you, and you are correct; at least they should give a reply to your personal emails. Not responding is wrong on their part. But if you see the other side of the coin, there are so many people sending emails for job opportunities and CVs for different positions; it becomes difficult for these senior people to respond to each and every employee. I hope you understand the reason why you do not get responses.

Let me share a few tips with you all. To start with, I would like to make it clear why I started this thread, what's the objective behind starting this thread.

The idea to start this thread is to let people share their experiences and know each other's efforts being put in various ways. Members will gain new ideas, tips, and I am sure this will help them in their personal development.

Taking IDs and forwarding the CVs is not the job done for a career-oriented person. The real crux lies when you explore the full opportunity that you have of being a part of a platform where thousands and thousands of HR and Training Professionals come together at one single platform. Let yourself be distinguished rather than lie in a heap of other CVs. Have you made any attempts to sell yourself? Are you confident about yourself? Can you confidently say that you are saleable? Then how do you expect someone will hire you? What are those ways wherein you can grab a job without sending or using your CV? Have you ever given a thought?

I preferred to stay quiet for so long because I wanted to put something positive. I agree there is a dip all around. I have been trying for almost 5 months to get into a job after my maternity break. I've tried many sources. But, let me tell you that I have now got a job as an HR manager through CireHR. This is a very good forum. Please don't get disheartened.
