Psychometric Assessment-Please Solve My Query

Hi,

Which are the commonly used psychometric assessments in an organization? Can any organization create a test according to the needs of the employees? For example, it may not be a standardized test but a test based on the training program to be conducted, reflecting certain qualities of the employee. I would like to know especially if it is possible to create one or not.
