How Does the AP High Court's 1% Labour Cess Ruling Affect Construction Firms?

Ap High Court supported a 1% labour cess in yesterday's judgment. The court stated that the 1% labour cess should be imposed on firms and companies engaged in construction work based on the cost of construction incurred by the employer and not on the entire value of the work.

Another important point is that the government is seeking to collect the cess from June 26, 2007, and not from September 26, 1996.
