What sort of induction training are you giving?
I take care of the entire training requirement of the Delhi NCR branch in my organization. So, induction training basically comprises introducing new joiners to our organization, a brief idea of the industry, our products, their KRAs, and a bit of selling skills as required by the target audience group.
How long does this training last?
Normally, induction training goes for 7-8 days; however, refresher training ranges from a 2-3 day session.
Do you give hands-on exercises (both individual and group)?
Yes, I try to include more practical exercises and some management games in my sessions as it makes the session more lively.
Do you give them tests at the end of the induction training to assess product knowledge?
Not exactly at the end of the session. In fact, I have designed two tests for my induction batch. The first test is conducted on Day 3, and the second test on Day 6.
What do you mean by SWOT analysis?
SWOT means strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Through this, I try to analyze new joiners' personality and behavior in a 7-day session.
Who analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats?
What is this SWOT for? Is it for the trainee or for the organization?
As mentioned earlier, the trainer has to do SWOT analysis for new joiners, and this feedback is forwarded to senior management/HR, which is further kept in the personal file of that employee.
Do all the skill and competency areas have equal weight?
Not exactly. It differs based on the job profile of the audience.
Why do Test 1 and Test 2 have different total points?
The nature of the test is different, and the second test carries more weightage as it checks the product knowledge of the candidate.
Have you used this to give feedback, and if so, have you asked for feedback on this from your executive trainees?
I am already using the same formats for my training batches.
