Is a Single Standing Order Enough for Multiple Subsidiary Units in Manufacturing?

mantu71
Hi,

I am in a manufacturing company, and we also have a certified standing order. At present, we have 3 subsidiary units. My question is whether this standing order is applicable, or do we have to formulate another standing order for each subsidiary unit. Please give your comments. Thank you.

Are all the subsidiary units covered under the ID Act? What is the worker strength in each?

As per my knowledge, if the other two units started functioning after the full functioning of the first unit and the first unit is covered as per the ID Act, and the necessary staff strength of that first unit is met as per the statutory requirement for the issuance of standing orders, then all other units automatically have to abide by the standing order. Not only that, standing orders are almost like a small form of HR policy for that firm because it contains information like office hours, attendance, leave procedure, disciplinary procedure, wage disbursement details, public holidays, weekly holidays, etc., to be posted in a prominent place of that unit. How can this vary from one unit to another unit of the same company? So, as per my knowledge, every unit must follow the same standing order as far as the same nature of functioning of the unit is concerned. If different units are functioning for a different purpose, then also how can the standard information contained in the standing order be different from an HR point of view?

Thanks and regards,
