Indeed, an emotional story! But pondering over it, I feel happy as Shay at least found people who understood and gave him a fair chance despite knowing his physical as well as psychological inabilities. The same goes for parents too - very loving and caring parents.

Reality, however, is a bit darker and contrary to this. Parents fear social rejection and are bogged down by many reasons, and we, the so-called "educated" class (no offense to anyone, it's true for most - exceptions might be there) get into the "labeling business," forgetting about playing or mingling with that person at a social level.

I appreciate the characters in the story who gave Shay a chance in his "lifetime" to experience some pride.

I believe that we must relate to the story by sensitizing ourselves towards everyone, regardless of mental or physical capability, be a true "human," and develop an empathetic attitude. When all are creations of God, who are we to differentiate?

Nonetheless, I have also forwarded this to my near and dear ones.
