Roulette,
I find the Kelly Report (Salary Handbook) a little doubtful in view of the absence of references and list of companies where those figures were taken.
JE Consultants like me will find the data difficult to use because it will be difficult to explain if such figures were credible. Indeed, in the absence of organizational references (participating companies) per industry, anyone can say that the figures were just randomly taken out of the blue.
Besides, when we do benchmarking, we usually use the market median rates (50th percentile) and NOT the minimum or maximum rates.
The Survey Report by Gallup is more acceptable and within the universal standard format. They use the same format as The HayGroup, W. Mercer, and Watson Wyatt Total Remuneration Survey reports.
Best wishes.
