Need Help Choosing a Research Topic in the Retail Industry for My HR Master's?

I will be conducting research in my second year of masters in HR, and I have been assigned the Retail Sector. Can you help me in selecting a topic related to retail? I am looking for suggestions on what topic I should focus my research on in the RETAIL INDUSTRY.

Sreenivasan said it right. The retail industry is booming, and customers are going to be in focus undoubtedly. In this boom, with more multinationals (including Walmart) coming into India, customer loyalty is going to be the biggest challenge for these Mega Retailers. It is worth doing research on any topic related to customers, their behaviors, retaining customers, or customer loyalty.

My suggestion would be to take up a project on "How employees are hired, developed, and managed" in the retail industry. Because effective HR management equals superior financial performance. This will have a direct impact on the success of any business.

You can also do some research on space management, as nowadays return per sq. ft in retail is a very important aspect of the Indian retail business due to the increase in property rates.

Thanks for helping me, but I need to do research in the area of HR on some aspects like PMS, Compensation, etc. Can you suggest some topics in that aspect as well?
