Interesting Interview Question - Can You Answer It?

..................You are sitting in front of a panel for an Interview... They ask you only one question... You have to make the right impression with the answer. Normal rules of giving an answer apply here as in if the answer is too long the interviewer might get bored, if it's too obvious, you fail to make a dent. And the worst part... there is............ NO RIGHT ANSWER.
So here's the question:
How will you describe the colour red to a person who is blind from birth....................???
take a minute to think about it... Go ahead...

The person is not deaf so we can atleast tell him that the particular thing is of red colour.
Let me know if i am wrong

Red colour can be explained to the blind man. Every thing in this world can be seen,sensed and felt at the same time. I will associate the red colour with the feelinf/sensation which is the mode of understanding by a blind man.

As u said he is blind from birth, the persons around him would have thought different colours. So i would ask him if he knows anything about red colour, if he answers yes, then no need to explain, if not then will relate red colour to blood/kumkum/give a red rose and will ask him to feel and tell him this is how it looks because blind people are blessed with other sharp sensations.

However as guideline, when such a question is asked, one should take a moment to think why the question was asked. Then one should put himself/herself in the shoes of the interviewer and think that if you were the person asking this question, what would impress you or what would you look for. Then think of the role you are applying for and think if any aspect of the role has anything to do with the answer.

It is a nice teaser from Bipin , but i am not as much impressed by his answer especially since there is a condition that "You fail to make a dent , if the answer is too obvious".
Isn't it too obvious that answer to each and every question in Interview is primarily guided by the role for which one is applying!
In fact, there is only one way of describing red to a blind by birth and that is by associating this with other senses. Since the blind people also live in the world in which people with sights live, they easily know that a tomato is red and sea is blue. So when bind people eat or touch tomato, they know that they are touching something red.
If such a question is asked in an interview, may be the interviewer is trying to judge whether candidate is able to show others which they have not seen in the past or in other words they must be looking for somebody with "out of box" ideas.
Respond if i am not on the right track.

I think that there is no specific answer for this question but if we are going to describe the things in read colour.After tell him that he can see no colour in this world rather than black.Describe the use of read colour..

For a blind person colour has no meaning. If we add sense with the colour then it has a meaning for a blind person.
for red - If he sense heat it is like read
For blue (sky,sea)- the colour is like cold water
for white- it is like a plane surface
for black- same condition as he is blind so it is black for him.
for green -the leaf of tree when a blind person touch it.
