Navigating Pre-Employment Medical Tests: What Should Be Included in Your Offer Letter?

archana.ambike
Hi,

Can anyone give me some information on Pre-Employment Medical Tests? I have included a clause in the offer letter that the candidate needs to undergo a medical test, and the offer is contingent upon the results of the test. I would like to know if there is a specific procedure or format for this. Should I provide a form along with the offer letter for the candidates to complete the medical test?

Regards,

Hi Archana,

Since you have included it in the offer letter, no extra forms are needed. Here is some information I have regarding the pre-employment medical test. Please see the attachment; I hope it helps you.

Keep smiling...

Dear Archana,

As such, there is no specific format for the same. The better way is to contact two or three hospitals/clinics and provide your requirements for the medical test (What type of test you would like to include in your medical test). Also, if required, you can include the hospitals/clinics on your panel so that the same tests are conducted for all. You can issue the offer letter on the condition that the candidate needs to be found medically fit.

What is the ideal way for pre-employment medical tests? Should the company arrange it, meaning decide which hospital/clinic to approach, or can the candidate choose the medical center? Also, is it not ideal for the medical reports to go directly to the employer?

Please reply.
