Seeking HR Wisdom: Where Do Industry Experts Share Their Insights?

Hi everyone,

I have been looking for a common place, like citehr, where the "HR gurus" 😉 could meet and share thoughts. I am working as an HR Analyst in a multinational HR consulting and solutions organization. Despite my organization being in the core HR business, I feel there is a lot to learn from peers and experts in the industry. I would be glad to learn from all of you.

Regards.

Thanks to all the members who have been contributing. I haven't contributed until now, but I hope to do so when I can. Anyways, cheers to the site.

Hey Yogita, could you please tell us about your job role? What does an HR Analyst actually do?

Hey Shweta, I am also an MBA graduate working on my final project. I'm from NITIE, Mumbai. How about you?

Oh! I just forgot to welcome with a joke on myself.

I had gone to meet an officer in the ministry. He told me, "tasreef rakhiye." I replied, "Maine to kuch laya nahin. Kya rakhoon?" Now I know what tasreef is. So please, tasreef rakhiye.

Hi Friends, Can anybody guide me to reach my goal. I am a Secretary in a Ltd., Co. Now I am pursuing MHRM from Pondicherry University. I am very much interested in concentrating on HR duties. In my previous company, I was responsible for the Recruitment Process and maintaining the employee database.

To achieve my goal of entering the HR profession, I must have good knowledge of HR practices. However, it is very difficult to secure an HR Executive Position in companies. I don't even have a chance in my current company. When attending interviews, I lack the confidence to effectively communicate my duties.

Can anyone please tell me about the general duties and responsibilities that an HR person typically performs?

Bye, Sailaja

Hi,

I was just surfing through the net and came across this website. I must appreciate the kind of quality HR thoughts that get exchanged here. I guess this is what motivated me to join this forum.

Let me introduce myself. I am Rajinder and working in a Pharma firm as a Senior Executive in HR.

I am sure this forum will provide a great opportunity to catch up with the HR trends, issues, insights, etc., and at the same time will give me an opportunity to share my thoughts too.

Hi Sailaja,

Nice to see you here. One of my friends is also pursuing a Management Degree from Pondicherry University.

This is vast. So, in one sentence if I have to say: "Recruitment, Selection, Training, Induction of HR, Planning and Development of Healthy Organisational Structure, Minimizing HR Turnover, Managing HRIS." This is theory.

What I feel:
HR Department Duty: "To keep their HR healthy, wealthy, and wise so that their organization can remain fit."

HR is the most important department of any organization - Why? Because it deals with human beings, and dealing with humans is the most interesting (difficult ) job, as these human beings come in a variety.

Hi Guys,

This is very interesting. This is my first time on the site, and I need to know what an HR Analyst's role profile looks like. My colleague and I just finished the Management Trainee program :D and will be confirmed as HR Analysts. However, this is the first time that this role is being introduced, and a good role profile will help when accepting the new role. Somebody help urgently!

Hello everyone!

I am an MBA student facing difficulty with a subject called HRIS. There is no particular book for HRIS where I can find all the related information about the subject. My exams are approaching. Can any of you please help me with this?
