Setting Up Company Policies: How Do I Start for an Event Management Firm?

vvidyam
Hi,

I need to set the process and policies for my company. How should I proceed with this? I am working for an event management company. Currently, there are no procedures being followed, but we are in the process of setting them up.

I am looking forward to any suggestions you may have.

Thank you.

Hi Sir,

Thank you very much for your reply. I need to set a process flow for each department and put complete policies into place. As mentioned, there are no processes or policies in the company. I have been trying to set this up for a long time. I have created all the process flows, but my boss still wants more. I would appreciate your suggestions on what I may have missed and what needs to be added.

My company's headquarters are in Bangalore with branches in Delhi and Mumbai. We have been in the event field for over 9 years. I have been with the company for 1.3+ years.

The major issue here is that many objections come from the management. Everything seems to be dependent on one person who struggles to understand things. Despite our efforts to make him understand, we face challenges in pinpointing where things are going wrong.

I kindly request your suggestions on how to proceed further.

Thank you.

Hi,

Once all the policies of an organization are framed and communicated, how can we formulate the process for implementation and compliance of all policies and procedures?

Thanks and Regards,
Pallavi

Hi all,

I would like to know, is there any difference between the Employee Handbook and Orientation Manual?

Hi,

In the organization, if you want to bring any kind of change, you need to have your top management support first and then your employees. Top management support can only be obtained when you are able to justify your point and can show some value add after bringing in those changes. I do not think your decision-making authority is not in favor of any kind of change, but he/she may be scared of the results of those changes. You, being an HR professional, are accountable to get things done that are in favor of the employees and create a congenial environment where employees love to come and work.

To start with, you can put the system in place for Payroll & compensation, Training and development, Recruitment & selection, Performance appraisal.
