How Does SAP Really Help with HR Tasks Like Performance Appraisal? Seeking Insights!

Hi all,

Can anyone give me some idea about how SAP helps with HR functions like performance appraisal and all? What are its benefits and shortcomings? How can it be implemented? Can people with a brief knowledge of computers work on it?

Please help me, yaar. I'm really confused about it. Even Google doesn't help much regarding it.

Also, do you have any idea whether performance appraisal can be done on SAP or not? I have studied the use of SAP in supply chain and in stores, but the use of SAP in HR is new to me, so I want to learn as much as I can about it.

Nice to hear from you. 😛 I will surely try to get more details from CiteHR. Actually, I'm doing a summer internship at Bombay Dyeing, working on performance appraisal here. I thought if I could implement it on SAP and also have to make a report on it. However, I'm not an engineer; I just have knowledge about C++, HTML... Can I still do something on it?

As Swapna has rightly said, all the functions can be performed with the help of SAP. However, dear, you need to learn the basics of SAP HR from somebody. In our company, we have designed all the software in SAP HR for Performance Management, Payroll, Data Administration, and Database Management System.

In SAP HR, there is no need for C++ and HTML. If you are computer savvy, it is okay to work on SAP HR. Seek more details about this from your company, where you are working on your project. Somebody there might be able to help you.

There are no positions specifically for SAP HR professionals. We train our HR staff in SAP. As mentioned, we develop our own software for HR functions within SAP. If a position becomes available, I will definitely inform you.
