How Reliable Are Verification Agencies for Background Checks, Especially for Out-of-Town Candidates?

Dear Friends,

Can any one of you inform me how much can we rely on a verification agency performing candidate background checks for Educational, Experience, Criminal, etc.? Is it possible to do verification for employees who are from outside of the city where the company is located? I doubt as education verification or criminal verification data cannot be checked by any private agency. Can anyone clarify the same?

Hey Darpan,

Private agencies can verify all kinds of checks since you would have given authorization to conduct verifications while signing the SLA. The verifications are reliable based on the type of vendor you have an agreement with. The only verification that is not foolproof in India is criminal. Otherwise, you can rely on vendors.
