Retirement Age Extension: Should We Keep Him on the PF Roll if Employment Continues?

ramravind
Dear All,

In our company, one PF member has reached his retirement age. After the retirement age, should we continue to include his name in the PF roll if management agrees to extend his employment for a further period of 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years?

An early guidance/opinion is solicited.

Yes, you can continue his membership after his retirement, but the PF contribution in total is deposited in the employee's contribution, not in the pension fund. This means all 12% (you don't have to deduct 8.33%).

There is no need to continue the membership of any employee after their retirement.

Dear Sir,

The retirement age under the Pension scheme is 58 years. Upon completion of 58 years, if Management extends the service of any employee, then, in that condition, the complete PF contribution of the employee will go to the PF fund only. The said employee can apply for the pension at the PF office and can receive the pension while in the extension of service. The PF fund can be accessed after the completion of the extension of the service period or after retirement.
