Hi All,
Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Divisha Agrawal. I am working as a HR Supervisor with Trident Hilton, a brand of OBeroi grp of Hotels....
It is nice to have come across this site.... I have just seen these games & am thankful that this site can really help novices like us in the training field.
Now as you would be aware by now that i am new in the field of trg.. i want some help from you. We are facing a problem ... we have lot of young ppl in the system... just out of the college..... & they look at the Workplace also as an extension of their college life... we need to build professionalism in them....We need to do a trg on the same... But with less of theory & more of practical knowledge which also hits the team directly....
Can any1 help??? Also if anything that can help develop a passion for what they are doing, positive attitude etc...
Waiting in anticipation for your replies.
Thanks
Divisha

Dear Divisha,
The challenge you are facing with the new recruits is a ver common challenge. Most companies hire on-campus and expect the HR/training managers to come up with something.
Here is what we need to do.
Always start the sesion with a game to lighten the atmosphere.
(a) organize a 'development session' (DONOT call it a training session coz the word training word generally gets negative responses from these kids)
on communication skills. In this program we can include topics like:
(i)What is good communication & waht is bad communication?
Here you cover topics which you think is relevant to your organisation.
(ii) Barriers to communication.
(iii) Importance of feedback while communicating.
(iv)Importance of Body language & how to read & develop body language.
The important thing to be kept in mind while presenting each topic is to customize the contents to your requirements.
Hope this helps.

Dear Divisha:
When we give training to people in the class room, they feel like prisoners or vacationers. That is the reason few years back I have decided to become an outbound trainer where we teach the same principles thru experiential trainings. That is learning by doing. The results are amazing. Rather I am by background an hotelier, worked at Hyatt Delhi and now an outbound trainer. Have been working with hotel industry also.
Let us talk how we can contribute to your organization. My number is 09811111343 and we are based out of Delhi and Mumbai. Doing a lot of training for various corporates in Mumbai.
Regards
Deepak
