I also tried a lot to find such a forum to discuss administrative issues, but all my attempts were fruitless. It seems there is no such forum available. If anyone has any clue about such a site, kindly let me know, please.

I have a request for CITE HR, if they could consider creating something like CITE ADMIN for our administrative issues and awareness. That would certainly be a great help for us and other admin professionals.

Looking forward to hearing something similar soon from CITE HR.

Dhanjit, we are all here to help you with your queries and would love to. I think administration is linked to each and every event that occurs in the organization. So, the whole area of administration is very vast and generalized.

If you have any query regarding administration, you can always post it on this site according to the nature of the problem. If it relates to discipline, post it in either IR or Labor/Employee relations. If it is related to taxes, you can put it in legal. Furthermore, if you have any queries that you cannot determine the appropriate topic to post under, you can always post it under Talk to Seniors.

In the end, let me tell you, almost 80% of HR professionals in India look after administration, and the remaining 20% also handle administration, but the level of involvement varies.

Admin Template might be in Excel or Word format. For example, checklists for particular tasks, and so forth. Moreover, Administration differs from organization to organization. In some organizations, admin takes care from facility management to housekeeping management. To assign tasks falling into these brackets, there are certain templates where you can ensure the work is done by the individual to whom you assign the work, like supervisors, office boys, and housekeeping support staff. For example, I'm attaching a template on how to keep the pantry clean. Hope this provides some clues to all.

The core understanding between the two departments is lacking even among professionals. HR is all about human values and related aspects, whereas Administration encompasses everything, not just one aspect like human resources. This is because all office-related functions such as the cafeteria, housekeeping, vendors, and all necessities for the office's smooth functioning, both operationally and academically, are handled by Administration, with HR being a part of it.

Organizations can vary in structure and functionality, leading them to sometimes consider both departments together. Consequently, many people and entrepreneurs do not pay much attention to these distinctions, resulting in them being widely perceived as one department. However, not all organizations follow this model; some have separate heads for HR and Administration.
