Curious About SAP HR Career Path: How Do You Progress to Head HR?

James Hopes
Hi to all Cite HR Members. My name is James. I have a doubt regarding SAP HR Future. After learning SAP HR and certification from SAP AG, Germany, will we become functional consultants of SAP? If so, what is our career growth? After gaining rich experience in SAP HR, what positions can we attain? Simply put, my question is, in the SAP HR profession, what are the stages to become a Head HR? Please clear my doubt.

First, you will be starting your career as an Associate Consultant, then a Functional Consultant, and eventually a Senior/Lead Consultant. You can even move up to a Project Manager, which depends on your capability. Don't think that there is no growth in any field. It completely depends on your capability. The harder you work, the more you will grow.

As you know, HR is treated as the heart of the organization. In this case, how can somebody say there will be no growth for SAP HR? Every piece of knowledge we gain has its own potential, which will come to our use in one way or another. Until then, we should continue to perform our best, and success is sure to follow.

I second Ravikumar for his prompt reply and agree with him completely. I need to know whether you have experience in HR. If so, you will be very strong in HR gamuts. Having SAP-HR certification will be a hot cake for you. You will be exceptional in HR along with SAP if you prefer to work in IT only. Otherwise, change your plan if you are willing to work in manufacturing companies. You do not need certification, only the exposure towards SAP in HR is enough. All the very best.

I have been in core HR for the last 5 years and have completed a SAP HR course. Could you please suggest how I can transition into a SAP role?

Thank you,
