Yes, I simply need the general power of an internal auditor e.g. demand & call any document (either confidential or otherwise) of the company. Force any person for statement or ask him for cooperation. I need such details regarding powers of internal auditor. Moreover, what an internal auditor can do and what cannot do in an organization. I mean to say power, limits & restrictions of an internal auditor. Please help. Best regards

Dear Rauf,
The powers of internal auditor depends upon his scope of work as alloted by the client. There are no general terms as to the powers of the internal auditor.
But, as a matter of generally accepted powers, internal auditor can ask for any documents or information from the auditee. However, he needs to ensure to maintain utmost level of confidentiality and integrity.
