I am doing my summer internship in competency mapping. How it provides an edge regarding training needs evaluation, how it helps in evaluating training needs, and how it makes the whole scenario different.

Competency mapping helps you in grooming resources for the right career choice. This redirects the learning in a focused manner and helps in understanding the current level of understanding for a specific competency, gaps to close, and ways to close the gap.

Thus, it helps the associate to do a PDCA loop. Plan where you stand, do proper learning as per your plan, check whether the gaps are addressed by evaluating against the knowledge gained, and act upon the results.
