i m doing my summer internship in competency mapping. hw it provides an edge regarding training needs evaluation....hw it helps in evaluating training needs......hw it makes the whole scenario different.

competency mapping helps you in grooming resources for right career choice. this redirect the learning in a focussed manner and helps in understanding the current level of understanding for a specific competency, gaps to close and ways to close the gap.
Thus it helps the assoociate to do a PDCA loop. Plan where you stand, Do proper learning as per your plan, Check whether the gaps are addressed by evaluating against the knowledge gained and Act upon the results.
