Induction vs. Integration: Should We Rethink Employee Onboarding Programs?

Hi,

Please find attached an excellent article on Induction, Orientation & Integration. I believe it should be an integration program rather than an induction or orientation program. Your comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Hi everyone,

If you design a process to include the activities (from when an employee is selected) such as: administrative and logistical preparation before an employee joins, filling all the necessary forms on the first day of joining, receiving all the necessary documents from the newly joined employee, giving all the necessary documents like policies, and so on, a tour around the offices and introducing the colleagues to them, arranging some meetings with relevant staff like security, finance, logistics, an overall overview of the organization, etc., on different dates but could be during the first or second week after joining.

My question is, how will you call these processes: either induction, preparation and induction, or what? And what do you think are the logical steps to be taken by the HR Department?

Thanks,

Amanullah Nazari
