Hi, I'm working as an HR Executive in an ERP consultancy company. We had a culture where one day was fixed for presentations, and an employee was required to give a PowerPoint presentation on any topic (either of his/her choice or given by management). The employee was given a one-week notice to prepare the presentation. The idea was to transfer and share knowledge while improving the presentation skills of employees.
The practice was very well-received in the beginning, but then employees began to grow bored of it. Also, when projects started pouring in, fewer people began to attend. Gradually, the practice stopped, and now we practically have to plead with people to participate in this weekly session, if it happens once in a blue moon.
My question is: how can we make it interesting so that people see it as something engaging and informative? Please suggest some methods (such as awards) that could encourage employees to participate. (Please don't suggest giving certificates because our employees don't value them much.)
Thank you.
