Confused About ESI Rounding: Should It Be Rs. 156.00 or Rs. 155.00?

I have a doubt. If an employee's ESI value is 155.06, what will the round off be? Is it Rs. 156.00 or Rs. 155.00?

Dear Raghavendra,

It will be Rs. 155, as when rounding off a decimal, if the first place in the decimal is more than 5, we increase the value of the number by 1. If the first place in the decimal is less than 5, the value remains the same.

For example:
- Rs. 100.05 = Rs. 100 (after rounding off)
- Rs. 100.55 = Rs. 101 (after rounding off)
