Is a Chat Room the Missing Piece for a More Vibrant HR Community?

Rohan Kelkar
Hi Friends,

I have completed exactly one year at Citemen HR. It has been a wonderful journey. I seriously feel that it is a must to have a Cite HR-CHAT ROOM. This way, our information site shall become more vibrant than it is now. I hope this suggestion is constructive.

Cheers, Rohan Kelkar.

Hi,

The profile provides the email address of the contributor. In case you find it relevant to initiate an HR chat, you can add him/her to your existing chat ID and continue your 'chat'. I feel this forum is best suited for healthy discussions, where we can apply our focus better and respond relevantly.

Yes, I too agree with Mr. Rohan and Mr. Nitin. I think there ought to be a chat room to share information more effectively.

Unfortunately, I agree with HRG. There is very little chance that a chat room will be included inside CiteHR as that would just completely destroy the thought process. In a forum-based discussion, you have time to think and reply; people tend to read more carefully too when messages are not flying off the screen. Moreover, with the speed improvement and the ease of posting, it makes all the more sense not to add a chat room and divert focus from the knowledge base.

I agree with HRG and CHR.

I have added many people to my friends list, and many people have added me too. Creating a chat room would mean discussing issues other than HR, and it would involve spamming. Here, educated members don't even spare the forum and post the same message in different sections. Would they not spam the chatroom?

If your objective is specific, there is no need for a chat room. Either PM or email the member with whom you want to interact. If you are successful, then add them to your friends list and chat.

Hi,

I am the junior member of the HR site team, but I still feel that we should have an HR chatroom where everybody can discuss issues relating to HR.

Hi,

I agree with Lovebird143, CHR, and HRG. It's a very good site where we can share our thoughts, HR-related problems, and many more info. Providing a chat room may disrupt the entire process. Offering a chat room also means discussing other topics apart from HR, which is not relevant to the purpose of CiteHR.

Shree

Hi all,

This is a great idea. If we can have a chat room, but in case we don't have one, we can send the replies directly to someone's email and also add that person to your chat list.

Priyanka

Dear,

A chat room should be available if we limit discussions to HR/Legal-related topics. Otherwise, the entire purpose of the site will be lost. Additionally, members should not get carried away by this feature.

Thanks with regards

Dear all,

It's a great idea to have an HR chat where HR team members can share their views, knowledge, clarify doubts, and get clarification. The suggestion is well appreciated. Let's do it.

Thanks,

I too agree for not having a chat room as it would destroy the whole concept of forum discussion and will not be beneficial to all who missed out being part or were not online for chat. The current format helps even for people who have recently joined and also for others to refer to the reply and discussions.

Niraj

Let us all have a positive frame of mind. Chat rooms can be very useful for instant addressing, and if it's felt that it's not giving the desirable effects, it can be withdrawn.

So I guess we should go ahead with chat rooms, general chat rooms, and SP chat rooms too with SP domains like HR, Marketing, academics, etc.

Yes, I too agree with Mr. Rohan, Mr. Nitin, and Mr. Julie. I think there ought to be a chat room to share information more effectively. It will be very convenient to share the officials' thoughts.

Hi everyone,

I agree with all of you that an HR chat room is a must. In addition, I would like guidance on company-level data trend methods. I have recently taken over as the HR representative in our company and am working as an Assistant Management Representative. Please suggest with examples. Can you help with this?

With Warm Regards,
Vinayak.
