ONE OF MY FRIEND HAVING AROUND 10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE (REPUTED COMPANIES) IN HR FIELD PRESENTLY WORKING IN A CONSULTANCY COMPANY. NOW HE WANTS TO SETTLE IN ANY ONE COMPANY AND WISHES TO HANDLE ALL ASPECTS OF HR FUNCTIONS.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS HE IS DRAWING THE SALARY SAY FOR INSTANCE RS.13000/- PER MONTH. BUT AS PER TODAYS' SALARY PACKAGE FROM ALL THE JOB PORTALS AND EVEN IF RECRUITED THRO' HR CONSULTANT THE SALARY FOR
HR EXECUTIVE - FROM 175000 CTC TO 250000 CTC
SR. HR EXECUTIVE - FROM 200000 CTC TO 400000 CTC
ASST. MANAGER - HR - FROM 350000 CTC TO 500000 CTC
WE ALL KNOW THE ABOVE RANGES OF CTC ARE RECENTLY OBSERVED THROUGH ALL THE JOB PORTALS BUT THE COMPANIES WHERE MY FRIEND IS ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW THEY ARE FIXING THE SALARY SLIGHTLY HIGHER BASED ON THE PREVIOUS COMPANY SALARY. i.e., IF HE IS DRAWING SOME 13000 THEY OFFER ONLY 15000/- OR 16000/-. (FOR THE POSITION OF ASST. MANAGER-HR /HR MANAGER)
OF LATE EVEN A HR EXECUTIVE HAS BEEN OFFERED RS. 12000/- IN ONE OF GARMENT COMPANY TODAY. TODAY ALL THE HR MANAGERS KNOWS ABOUT THE PREVAILING SALARY RANGE FOR THE HR PERSONNEL. THEN WHY THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY GOOD SALARY FOR SUCH AN EXPERIENCED PERSON.
WHETHER THE ONLY REASON IS ABOUT THE SALARY DRAWN IN PREVIOUS COMPANY? IF IT IS SO, IF HE WOULD HAVE WORKED FOR RS. 5000/- THE NEXT COMPANY HIRING HIM WOULD PAY ONLY 7000/- TO 8000/- PER MONTH BASED ON THE PREVIOUS SALARY DRAWN? THEY WOULD NOT CONSIDER THE EXPERIENCE, SKILL, PERSONALITY ETC.,
I CONCLUDE THAT PRESENTLY COMPANIES OFFER FOR FRESHERS & THOSE WHO ARE LESS EXPERIENCE I.E. 2 TO 4 YEARS GETTING RS. 15,000 TO RS. 16,000.
