I agree with ur first point only...........Anyway I will educate our members about this :
* Try to think about the problem practically...Y because, as of now every ESI branch Office has its own BLOCK Nos. in alloting the Insurance Nos. to the employees working in the factories/estt. working in its jurisdiction......
* For certain diseases for making the benefit amounts, we have to see his insurable employment for the last TWO YEARS, hence while taking steps in respect of the newly joining employee, who has already covered under ESI in the previous Unit the following steps to be followed by all the HR Personnels:
1. When the new employee reveals that he has already covered under ESI and have the particulars of ESI No., then u have to fill up a form called ESIC-53 and submit to the Branch Office concerned in which jurisdiction the new factory/estt. falls... then the Branch Office will get his previous records, such as 'Declaration Form/Ledger Sheet/Returns Particulars' from the previous ESI branch office in which jurisdiction the previous factory/estt. is attached;
2. After receiving the previous Declaration form, they will allot their running ESI Block no. in the place of the old no., the same no. to be reflected against his name in the concerned returns; though he was alloted new no., "by virtue of having his old particulars, he will treated as under continuous insurable employment and he was entitled for all cash benefits, as applicable".
3. If the previous factory & new factory falls in the same Branch Office jurisdiction, he has to submit ESIC-53 with particulars of change of employer particulars, in which case he has to use his previous no. only;
AFTER COMPUTERIZATION:
01. If earlier he was provided with Smart Card, then there is no problem, after joining the new co. in the Branch Office, simply in the software they will change the employer particulars only, since AFTER COMPUTERISATION NO NEED TO CHANGE UR ESI NO., AS UR CARD PARTICUALRS ARE PERMANENT IN NATURE"
02. Though the Computerisation is on, its better to request for issue the Temporary Cards, since after enrolling the Photo Camps, it will take min. one month to get ur cards, till such time, whats the fate of the Insured Person, as far as medical facility is concerned.........HENCE ITS ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE TEMPORARY CARD.........till u get the SMART CARD.
