Best Hindi Movies for Employee Training and Development

Devmalya
Dear All,

I am planning to initiate a program for retail store staff, which would be a half-day program where they would watch a Hindi movie with a message. The trainer would debrief the movie after it is screened.

The messages for which I am searching for movies are:

1. Passion
2. Inspiration
3. Honesty
4. Authenticity
5. Innovation
6. Commitment

I know a lot of movies that feature these themes in English. However, I am specifically searching for Hindi movies. I would appreciate it if you could suggest a few good Hindi movies that convey the above-mentioned messages.

Looking forward to your advice.

Regards,
Devmalya

Apart from the movies mentioned by other forum members, I would like to add two more names: Khakee and Deewar - Let's bring our heroes back (new one). These two movies are authentic as well as have all the other qualities needed by Devmalya.

I think IQBAL would be the best. It covers all aspects and deals with cricket. I'm sure the audience would love it :) Plus, not many people have seen it. "3 Idiots" and "Guru" are hits, and these people must have definitely seen them. So, I think you should give them something new :) All the best.

Cheers!!

I would go for the Hindi film Lagaan as it has all the points you mentioned and is also a good watch, especially for those not terribly fond of Hindi films.

Hi!

Since your audience consists of people working in retail, you can even consider screening them for "Employee of the Month." This picture was released in 2006, depicting both the good and the darker sides. It's a picture worth seeing!

Hi Devmalya,

I would suggest planning some game activities instead of watching a movie for the following reasons:

1) Employees may take it too casually, and your motive may fail.
2) Watching a movie may result in simply passing time by the end of the day.
3) Movies are for entertainment, not for learning, and this attitude may prevail.
4) Since 99% of employees might have already seen the movie planned for the session, they might end up joking around or causing disturbances. Some might even fall asleep.

If games are planned instead, the activities can boost the energy levels in employees, encouraging them to strive for victory and work together as a team. Games are generally preferred as they keep the participants engaged and active, with each member playing a role on behalf of their team to achieve success.

Shyam Benegal's "Manthan," featuring Girish Karnad and Smita Patil, is based on Amul India. It is considered the best movie for team building.

I had made a PPT which my friend and I created to motivate the employees of HYPER CITY, one of the finest managed retail stores based on Lagaan and Chak De. Sorry, I am not able to upload it at this moment as I have a very slow internet connection. If you are in Mumbai, you can get it personally, or remind me so that I can email it to you from another location.

Hope this is what you were looking for and hope it helps you.

I suggest watching Rocky 1 & 2 - English's best movies for training. "Swades" is probably the best movie for everything you are looking for.

Please let me know if you need any further recommendations or assistance.

Video by Amitabh B for Independence Day in combination with a video on The Times of India "Jago re jago re" (short and specific for training but has all the qualities mentioned above).

Plus, you could add "In Pursuit of Happiness" (English) but can be understood by the Hindi-speaking workforce.

Better than Hindi movies, please go with the English movie "12 Angry Men". This is a good old movie for leadership and decision-making.

Hi, every movie supplies some source of inspiration. You can choose some of the epics and moral movies like Mahabharata, Hanuman. In addition to this, you can go for the latest ones like Chak De! India, 3 Idiots, and Tiranga etc.

Passion: JO JEETA WOHI SIKANDAR / BLACK
Inspiration: CHAK DE INDIA
Honesty: LAGE RAHO MUNNA BHAI
Innovate: SWADESH
Being committed: IQBAL / LAGAAN / KARATE KID

Apart from this, you can also suggest some motivational movies like RANG DE BASANTI, 3 IDIOTS. Additionally, consider showcasing movie clips such as "Kartik Calling Kartik" scene on "Discovering Self," etc.

You can screen "Employee of the Month," a two-hour eighteen-minute picture which depicts all that you would like to instill in them.

Yes, right. As per Gaurav Vedak, why don't we plan games instead of movies? Everyone will be involved in games to make their team win so that they will get some relaxation, and their energy levels will also increase.
