Nominated by the UN as the best Poem of 2006 - Written by an African Kid

When I was born, I was black.
As I grew up, I remained black.
Under the sun, I am black.
When I am scared, I am black.
In sickness, I am black.
Even in death, I'll be black.

But you, white fellow,
When you were born, you were pink.
As you grew up, you turned white.
In the sun, you get red.
When you're cold, you turn blue.
In fear, you become yellow.
When sick, you go green.
And in death, you become grey.

And yet, you call me colored??
