Understanding Cost to Company (CTC)

CTC stands for Cost to Company, meaning all expenses incurred by an organization for its employees. A classic example is outlined below:

1. Monthly gross salary
2. Employer contributions to PF & ESI
3. Any type of bonus
4. Incentive payments of any kind
5. LTA (Leave Travel Allowance)
6. Value of free accommodation, electricity, medical benefits, etc., if applicable
7. Company car, if provided
8. Subsidized canteen facilities, if available
9. Gratuity
10. Other retirement benefits apart from PF and Gratuity, such as a superannuation scheme
11. Club membership
12. Furnishing allowance
13. Entertainment allowance
14. Any other items, gifts, etc.
