Transferring EPF and Establishment Codes Across States
Practically, it is not possible for any industry to have a uniform code across states, as each state has its own code, like UP representing Uttar Pradesh and DL representing Delhi. However, if you want to transfer an employee's EPF from one state to another, it is possible for any employee. If you wish to transfer the establishment code, you will need to obtain a fresh code in the other state. Your old EPF code may assist you in obtaining the new establishment code in the other state. On the other hand, you may deposit the EPF contributions of employees from another state into the existing establishment code.
