Hi, this is for my husband. He is working as a General Manager (GM) in one of the clubs in Ahmedabad. He was hired 2 months ago but has not been provided with an appointment or offer letter, despite reminders to the employer. Just 2 days ago, without any valid reason, they are asking him to step down as they are recruiting another person for his position. What can we do?

Hi, For such senior positions, without having proper employment contract terms, how did the Club employ you for 2 months? It indicates that they are not a professional organization.
Have they paid 2 months' salary and any notice pay salary?
In the absence of any employment documentation, initiating legal proceedings through the Civil Court will also be challenging.
If the salary has not been paid, you can pursue the matter and consider looking for another professional offer.

Dear Sir, Thank you for the reply. He was paid 2 months' salary, but no notice period salary has been given yet. In fact, he has not been given any notice at all. He just received a message to step down from the 13th of July, 3 days ago.

Hi, Actually, it is an unfair practice. Though it is at the discretion of the employer, proper exit terms should be followed. He can write a letter to the In-Charge of the Club stating:
"I was expelled from (name of Club) without any prior notice, due to which I'm facing significant hardship in supporting my family. I have loan EMIs to be paid and I need to take care of my family and kids. Considering the above, I humbly request you to release my notice period salary, which would be a huge support in meeting my current family expenses. I kindly request you to consider the above and provide assistance during this crisis period."
Just make the request and see how they respond.
