Govt. school teachers are government employees and hence they are entitled as per the Gratuity cum Pension Scheme of the State Government. Additionally, as per the 2009 amendment to PGA to the Act, Section 2(e) of the Act was amended to include 'Teachers'within the definition of the employee with retrospective effect from 03.04.1997. So the legal position is clear and the Supreme Court has upheld the claim.
