Hello friends, can someone guide me on two things:

How many contract workers are required to obtain RC under CLRA in Daman?

I heard that the amendment made for "Fixed Term Employment" has been revoked by the central government.

Thanks,

Regards, Bapu Kadam

Contract Workers Registration under CLRA in Daman

1. Under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act (CLRA), the requirement for obtaining Registration Certificate (RC) for contract workers in Daman is applicable when an establishment engages 20 or more contract workers on any day of the preceding 12 months. Therefore, if an establishment in Daman has 20 or more contract workers, they are required to obtain the RC under CLRA.

Revocation of Amendment on Fixed Term Employment

2. The amendment related to "Fixed Term Employment" was indeed introduced by the central government but was later revoked. The amendment allowed companies across sectors to hire workers for fixed terms, providing flexibility in employment. However, this amendment was subsequently withdrawn by the central government.

For further details and specific legal references, it is advisable to consult the official government notifications or labor department guidelines for the most up-to-date information on contract worker registration and amendments related to fixed-term employment in India.
