There are DA/VDA calculation for minimum wages as well as through different schemes both in Public and Private sectors. In all method CPI ( Consumer Price Index) is a common factor but the neutralization process are different. Some cases it is % wise, some cases it is per point neutralization comparing with ups and down of index.
There is index months/quarter etc as well as payable months/quarter etc. It is basically time of review - monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly. There is also the base year which may be 1960= 100, 1982 = 100, 2000 = 100 etc. Purpose of changing base year is basically the consumption basket is changing with the years to go. There is also conversion factor from one base year to another base year.
