Hello everyone, there was an employee who worked with us from Nov 2018 to Dec 2019. Her PF amount was deducted from the salary, but unfortunately, the remittance was not made due to the non-generation of the UAN number, which happened because of an Aadhaar mismatch. Now, she has made the correction. Can we create a UAN number and make the remittance for that period, i.e., from Nov 2018 to Dec 2019?

Please advise.

To address the situation of non-remittance of PF from November 2018 to December 2019 due to the issue with the UAN number, here are the steps you can take to rectify the situation:

1. Verify the Corrected Aadhaar Details:
- Ensure that the employee has successfully corrected the Aadhaar details to match the PF records accurately. This step is crucial for the generation of the UAN number.

2. Generate UAN Number:
- Once the Aadhaar details are corrected, proceed to generate the UAN number for the employee. You can do this through the EPFO portal or by contacting the concerned PF office.

3. Remittance of PF Amount:
- After the UAN number is generated, you can now proceed with the remittance of the PF amount that was deducted but not deposited for the period in question (November 2018 to December 2019).

4. Coordinate with PF Authorities:
- It might be beneficial to inform the PF authorities about the situation and the steps you are taking to rectify the non-remittance issue. This transparency can help in ensuring compliance and resolving any potential discrepancies.

5. Document the Process:
- Maintain detailed records of the corrective actions taken, including the generation of the UAN number, remittance of the pending PF amount, and any communication with the PF authorities. Documentation is essential for future reference and compliance purposes.

By following these steps diligently and ensuring that all necessary corrections are made promptly, you can rectify the non-remittance of PF for the mentioned period and ensure compliance with PF regulations.

Important Note: It is advisable to consult with a legal or PF expert to ensure full compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations during this process.
