I've started my new job 4 weeks ago, and I am thinking of quitting.

My thoughts:

I am feeling anxious because of deadlines and new challenges. I am not feeling productive. I often feel confused with normal tasks. I feel I am not worthy of this job. I think I would not be able to perform better. I am comparing myself with my colleagues. Imposter syndrome has hit me hard.

I feel uninterested in a lot of new execution work. I feel like I have lost interest in work and my career.

I find satisfaction on Friday nights because of the weekend, and I feel awful on Sunday nights because of going back to work again.

I often feel tired because of the change in my shift. In my last company, I was working the morning shift to the afternoon shift, while in my new company, I am working the evening to night shift.

Sometimes, I miss my old job and feel like going back to my old company. Should I go back to my old job?

I am experiencing this for the first time in my career. Should I quit? Let me know your thoughts.

It is quite natural to feel unhappy in a new job during the initial days, and comparisons between the old and new job situations can further feelings of frustration. Such thoughts need to be rationalized and overcome.

Is the new job really bad?

Are you unable to adjust at all to the new situation? Have you given a real try to measure up to the tasks? Others may also have similar tales to tell! You chose the new job. By going back, will you not become the subject of jokes? How could you deal with colleagues? What is the guarantee that upon returning, you will be treated well?

Considerations if you are unable to adjust

If you feel you are totally unable to adjust and cope with the job demands, you may look for a job elsewhere, not necessarily where you had left. My opinion is to give it time. It seems too early to call it quits.
