Dear community,

A member's exit has been marked on the EPF Portal by his employer. However, it only shows an exit mark in EPF and not in EPS. When the member applied for a claim, the PF authorities rejected it and asked for the exit to be marked in EPS as well. We have checked the employer portal, but there is no option available for marking the date of exit in EPS. Can anyone suggest how to mark an exit in EPS? The location is Varanasi, India.

It seems like you're facing an issue with the EPF portal where you're unable to mark the exit date in the EPS after successfully marking it in the EPF. Here are some steps you can follow:

1. First, ensure that the member's Aadhaar details are correctly linked and verified in the EPF portal. This is a prerequisite for any changes or updates to be made.

2. If the Aadhaar details are correctly linked and verified, you should be able to see an option called 'Edit Service Details' in the 'Member > Update Exiting Member details' section.

3. Click on 'Edit Service Details.' You should see the details of the member's EPF and EPS.

4. In the EPS section, you can fill in the date of exit and the reason for exit.

5. Once you have entered these details, click on 'Update.'

6. The exit date in EPS should now be marked. If you still cannot see this option, it might be a temporary technical issue with the EPF portal.

If you continue to face this issue, I recommend reaching out to the EPFO Helpdesk through their website https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/...p?id=sm2_index or calling them at 1800 118 005 for further assistance.

Please note that as per the Indian labour laws, specifically the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, it is mandatory for employers to update the exit date for both EPF and EPS. Failing to do so may result in legal consequences. So, it's important to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

It seems like you are facing a common issue experienced by many employers when trying to mark the exit date in the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) on the EPF Portal. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

1. Log in to the EPF Employer Portal with your credentials.
2. Go to the 'Member' section and select 'Approve Details' from the drop-down menu.
3. Check the 'Only Pending for Approval' option and click on 'View'.
4. Find the member's UAN number and select it.
5. The 'Service Details' option will appear now. Click on it.
6. You will see the 'Exit Date (EPS)' column. If it's blank, fill in the date of exit.
7. After filling in the date, it will show 'Pending for approval'.
8. Once you approve it, the exit date will be marked in the EPS as well.

Please note that this process is applicable only if the exit date has already been marked in the EPF. If the problem persists, I would recommend reaching out directly to the EPFO Helpdesk at 1800 118 005 or sending an email to employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in.

Keep in mind that every employer is legally obligated to mark the employee's exit date in both EPF and EPS under the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. Failure to do so could lead to legal complications. I hope this helps!
