I know one organization ( MNC ) following the different way to deal with monthly paid staff as mentioned below. It appears to me logical.
Daily wages is arrived by ( Monthly wage x 12 ) / 365. LOP in any month is determine by No. of days LOP x Daily wage. Gross salary will be ( Monthly salary - LOP ).

As per statutory compliance,
We consider actual working days excluding weekly off as the factor for calulating per day salary.
Eg. If a month has 30 days and 04 weekly off, then work days in month are 26,hence Monthly salay/ 26 days would be the per day salary. And if an employee is called for work on weekly off or on holiday, then it amounts to over time and it is required to be paid at the double the rate of per day value.
This allowas us to satisfy the stautory obligations correctly.

A very simple calculation states here that - If a person has worked for no. of days, that person should be paid as per his one day salary. To this consent, the person should get 16 days salary as he was present for 16 days. Also, it doesn't matter if the month is 30th or 31st as he was absent in the remaining days.

Dear Kishor
I think if the salary is paying on monthly basis then there should be not at issue while calculations however you have to divide the gross salary by no of days in a month and multiply by PR days.
Thanks

When you are following a uniform 30 days per month, pro rata salary will be calculated as:
Gross Salary - (Absent days x Daily salary)
Gross salary = Rs.45000
Daily Salary = Rs.1500
June July
Present 14 14
Absent 16 17
Loss of pay 24000 25500
Salary payable 21000 19500

Dear kishore,
To Calculate Monthly Basis Salary
E.g :- A Employee Salary is 15000/- Per month
15000/Monthly Days* Total Present days (Including Week Off, NH, Leave Etc).
15000
----------------- X Total Present days
Monthly Days

From India
Hello Mr. Kishore,
I guess this is not a correct way to calculate salary. If this happens on month of February then company does not ask this question. In that case company directly cut the salary of 15 days out of 28 days and process for 13 days.
This cause the loss of employee. so if you follow the process then you need to pay for 16 days salary. or divide the salary in 31 days and pay for 16 days.
Example: If employee salary is 10000
10000/30= ‭333/day
16 days = 5005
10000/31= 322/day
16 days = 5161
