Dear Member,
If your establishment is covered under The Factories Act, 1948 & The Punjab Factory Rules, 1952 then plz go through Rule 69 [C] of the Punjab Factory Rules as applicable to the State of Haryana for having list of contents to be kept in first aid box.

First-aid boxes, at the rate of not less than 1 (one) box for 150 (one hundred and fifty) workers or part thereof, distinctively marked with a red cross on a white ground should be available and readily accessible during working hours.

a. Where the number of workers employed exceeds 19 (nineteen) but does not exceed 50 (fifty), the first-aid box shall contain the following equipment:

(i) 12 small sterilized dressings;

(ii) 6 medium size sterilized dressings;

(iii) 6 large size sterilized dressings;

(iv) 6 large size sterilized burn dressings;

(v) 6 (½ oz.) packets sterilized cotton wool;

(vi) 1 roll of adhesive plaster

(vii) 1 (2 oz.) bottle containing a 2 per cent alcoholic solution of iodine;

(viii) 1 (2 oz.) bottle of sal-volatile having the dose and mode of administration indicated on the label;

(ix) 1 (1 oz.) bottle of potassium permanganate crystals;

(x) 1 snake bite lancet;

(xi) 1 pair scissors; and

(xii) 1 copy of the first-aid leaflet approved by the Chief Inspector of Factories.

b. Where the number of workers employed exceeds 50 (fifty), the requirements for the first-aid box are doubled in number for items (i) to (vi), doubled in quantity for items (vii) to (ix), remain the same for items (x) to (xii). Additionally there is a requirement to provide:

(i) 12 roller bandages 4 inches wide;

(ii) 12 roller bandages 2 inches wide;

(iii) 6 triangular bandages;

(iv) 2 packets of safety pins;

(v) A supply of suitable splints; and

The first-aid box must be kept in charge of a responsible person who needs to always be readily available during the working hours of the establishment. The person in-charge of the first-aid box is trained in First Aid treatment.
