The West Bengal HRA Act, 1974 envisages for an HRA of 5% for the workmen. Kindly inform whether the same is to be calculated on Gross minimum wages (as per WB min wages notification) or on basic only. For e.g. if Rs.1000 is gross wages for a month the HRA should be Rs.50? Please advise.
