I need to know about new EPF rules. Is it deductible from basic only or from total salary? Any ceiling limit for deduction of PF?

It's to be deducted @ 12% on total salary excluding HRA for those drawing gross salary of Rs.15,000/-p.m. In respect of those drawing salary above Rs.15000 it's only voluntary on either side, no compulsion.
