Hi, we have declared a holiday on 18th April for the election. We have some employees whose election day is on 23rd April. How can we treat this situation? Should we give a common holiday on 18th and paid leave on 23rd for those who have an election on 23rd? Or should those employees take leave? 20 out of 80 employees have an election on the 23rd.

Mr. Muhammad Asif,

You will have to ask the 20 employees to work on the 18th and allow them a paid holiday on the 23rd so that they could exercise their vote as per the Circular of the Election Commission of India.

Hi,

I would suggest the same as Mr. Karthik. You can ask those 20 employees who are not going to vote on the 18th to work on that day, and the rest of the employees can cover the shift on the 23rd. This way, all employees will get paid leave according to their election day.

Thanks
