The rate of maternity benefit shall be equal to the standard benefit rate. Standard Benefit Rate means average daily wages obtained by dividing the total wages paid during the contribution period by the number of day for which these wages were paid. In other words ESIC provides 100% of average daily wages in cash up to 26 weeks in confinement and 6 week in case of miscarriage, during maternity leave and 12 weeks for commissioning mother and adopting mother.
