Many companies start the interview process with a phone call to discuss the job opportunity with a prospective employee to determine if the candidate is a good fit, and to gauge his or her interest in the job.
Important points:
Scheduling of time/date well in advance after review of resume and cover letter.
Select recruitment team before the telephonic interview
decide what questions to ask to determine suitability in all respects of candidate.
Have a standard interview review format to rate each candidate.
Once candidate passes telephonic screening them employer can move ahead.
