Dear sir,

I am working as an Assistant Manager in a private limited company. The nature of the duty involves the extension of pulpwood species (field work). On my way back home from the office, I met with an accident within 100 meters from my office and became permanently disabled.

Could you please clarify whether this incident is considered to be on duty or not?

Thank you.

Yes, since you met with an accident while on the way home at a short distance and time. If you are covered under ESI, was the accident report sent to the authority? If you are not covered, you can write formally and claim compensation. If the employer does not respond positively, you can contact the Commissioner for Employee Compensation and seek his/her guidance in the matter.
